Every spring the Long Island Chapter of the US Green Building Council recognizes one or two individuals that have demonstrated leadership consistent with the Mission of the USGBC-LI Chapter. On May 24th USGBC-LI saw fit to honor Richard Kessel, President and CEO of the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and Jack Kulka, PE, LEED AP, President of Kulka Construction at the Building Green Long Island Gala held at the Uniondale Marriott. Funds raised from the event support the USGBC-LI’s mission to improve our quality of life by improving the quality of the structures we build, and the environment in which we all live, work, and play by engaging businesses, developers, municipalities and individuals to be part of the process. The organization funds multiple academic scholarships and provides educational programs and events that encourage environmentally responsible building practices. |
